I Am Malala by Christina Lamb and Malala Yousafzai : REVIEW

We have seen that women were always neglected in every aspect of our history. Be it, education or labor, their position has always been lower as compared to men.

But education is an important aspect and every single person must have this right be it a girl or a boy. It is very important for bringing a balance in society. Though there are many programs nowadays which are promoting girl education, if we look into our history girls were always prohibited from going to a school in some countries including India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Girls had to struggle to get secretly educated. And so many other problems which they had to face.

So this book, I’m am Malala is all about girl education. It is a memoir where Malala has described her life struggles to get educated, how she was against the laws made by the Taliban. She has also described how her father stood up for girl education and what all struggles he has to face to start a school. How she stood up for education long before the majority of the world knew who she was.

Being from Pakistan she also described how the war in those countries began and how her life was affected by the worst things you couldn't even imagine. This story is about all who have suffered at the hands of the Taliban. How she was shot when she stood against the Taliban laws.

I learnt more about Pakistan and Afghanistan, the Taliban, more about Islam and the Muslim religion. About the life of people in those countries and the history of the people that lived there. So it is a must-read book for everyone.
